That\u2019s why today\u2019s post is all about, you guessed it, how to cultivate self-love.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We\u2019ll be talking about what it is and why it\u2019s important, plus we\u2019ll provide you with tips and resources on incorporating self-love practices into your routine. We\u2019ll also be sharing our lead faculty\u2019s top five self-love <a href=\"https:\/\/www.healthcoachinstitute.com\/habit-change\">habits<\/a>, resources, and products for nourishing themselves in mind, body, and spirit.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>What is Self-Love?<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Merriam-Webster defines self-love as \u201can appreciation of one\u2019s own worth or virtue\u201d and \u201cproper regard for and attention to one\u2019s own happiness and well-being\u201d.<br \/>\n<\/span><br \/>\nMore simply put, self-love means knowing your worth and doing things that support your happiness<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019s speaking to yourself more kindly and showing yourself more compassion. It\u2019s making the effort to not get lost in the to-do lists of life, and seeking to find small joys in the day to day.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The best part about learning to show yourself love, or \u201cfill up your own cup,\u201d is that it allows you to better love and care for the people around you.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">How to Practice Self-Love<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you\u2019ve never thought about practicing self-love, the concept may seem silly and even a bit self-indulgent. Why is it that we have such an easy time showing tenderness to our children, partners and friends, but when it comes to ourselves it feels foreign?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The following self-love techniques are attainable, affordable, and will help foster a positive relationship between you and, well, you.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">6 Self-Love Techniques<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><b>Squash Negative Self-Talk<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Take note of harmful thought patterns that may be limiting your potential. Think of your inner voice as your inner child\u2014speak to it kindly! Daily affirmations and journaling are great tools to help with this.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Prioritize Your Health<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">:<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This means nourishing your body with healthy, energy-boosting foods, making regular time for physical activity (whatever that means to you), getting enough sleep, building white space into your day, and any other actions that support your mental and physical well-being.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Set Boundaries<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Whether it\u2019s at the office, with extended family, or between you and the six hours you spent scrolling on TikTok last night, setting boundaries is a way to maintain healthy relationships and preserve your own sanity<\/span><b>. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(Say, for example, your boss is texting you on the weekend. Boundary-setting would be telling him or her that they can no longer text you outside of normal business hours.)<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Although setting boundaries can be awkward at first, it\u2019s worth it in the long run.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Make Time for Self-Care<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Self-care is a crucial part of loving yourself. Making time for self-care means that we think we are <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">worthy<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of love, attention and TLC. Try to set aside time in your schedule to do things that make you happy, even if it\u2019s something as simple as going for a walk or baking a pie. <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.healthcoachinstitute.com\/motivational\/self-care-habits-for-busy-people\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Check out these 13 easy ways to fit self-care in when you\u2019re busy.\u00a0<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><b>Show Yourself Compassion<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">:<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ditch the perfection mentality (it\u2019s the enemy of self-love), and realize that you\u2019re human and you\u2019re going to make mistakes. It\u2019s important to get comfortable with that notion and change the way you react to mistakes when they happen. Instead of interpreting them as a sign that you\u2019re a failure, view them as an opportunity to learn and grow.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Practice Authenticity<\/b>: Don\u2019t hide the parts of you that are messy and imperfect, embarrassing or shameful. Don\u2019t fear the judgment of others (it says nothing about you and a whole lot about them). The <i>only<\/i> person you need to please is yourself. So live your life full out. Be unapologetically and authentically you.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Psychology of <\/b><b>Self-Love <\/b><b><\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Self-love is closely related to self-esteem, with the two concepts feeding into one another. You accept yourself, flaws and all, and you embrace your imperfections. We\u2019ll also be sharing our lead faculty\u2019s top five self-love <a href=\"https:\/\/www.healthcoachinstitute.com\/habit-change\">habits<\/a>, resources, and products for nourishing themselves in mind, body, and spirit.<\/span>\n<h2><b>What is Self-Love?<\/b><\/h2>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Merriam-Webster defines self-love as \u201can appreciation of one\u2019s own worth or virtue\u201d and \u201cproper regard for and attention to one\u2019s own happiness and well-being\u201d.\n<\/span>\nMore simply put, self-love means knowing your worth and doing things that support your happiness<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span>\n\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019s speaking to yourself more kindly and showing yourself more compassion. It\u2019s making the effort to not get lost in the to-do lists of life, and seeking to find small joys in the day to day.\u00a0<\/span>\n\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The best part about learning to show yourself love, or \u201cfill up your own cup,\u201d is that it allows you to better love and care for the people around you.<\/span>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">How to Practice Self-Love<\/span><\/h2>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you\u2019ve never thought about practicing self-love, the concept may seem silly and even a bit self-indulgent. Why is it that we have such an easy time showing tenderness to our children, partners and friends, but when it comes to ourselves it feels foreign?\u00a0<\/span>\n\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The following self-love techniques are attainable, affordable, and will help foster a positive relationship between you and, well, you.<\/span>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">6 Self-Love Techniques<\/span><\/h3>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<\/span><b>Squash Negative Self-Talk<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Take note of harmful thought patterns that may be limiting your potential. Boundary-setting would be telling him or her that they can no longer text you outside of normal business hours.)<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Although setting boundaries can be awkward at first, it\u2019s worth it in the long run.<\/span>\n\n<b>Make Time for Self-Care<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Self-care is a crucial part of loving yourself. Making time for self-care means that we think we are <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">worthy<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of love, attention and TLC.
